History of T & B Automotive Repair

Tom Burgener & Brian Laib quickly became best friends when Brian started working at Reliable Chevrolet in 1993. Tom, who had already been at the dealership for seventeen years immediately took Brian under his wing. Together the two men worked side by side repairing cars and building transmissions for the next sixteen years. In 2009 the two best friends, tired of working at a dealership, decided to open their own shop. In November of 2009 T & B Auto LLC opened at 2105 W. Division in Springfield MO. The business continued to grow and the two best friends became closer than ever. Tom was there for the birth of both of Brian’s kids and Brian was there as best man when Tom married Lisa. In September of 2016 Tom Burgener passed away. Everyone who knew Tom was devastated. For me Tom will always be remembered by four things.

  1. The obvious…his moustache. He grew his moustache when he was a teenager and kept it all through his life
  2. His Harley…sometimes he could be caught at the shop during business hours cleaning and polishing Harlow
  3. His smile…Tom was always smiling
  4. His friendly personality…Tom was friendly to everyone, always joking around, and would do anything in the world to help his friends and family

In January 2017 we opened our own shop called T & B Automotive Repair. The name stayed as close as it could to the one Tom and Brian came up with eight years ago in remembrance of a great friend who left us way to soon. Brian had to make a tough decision to change locations of the business in February. On March 6, 2017 T & B Automotive Repair opened at 4097 W Sunshine, Suite 200. Brian and I were excited to also announce that Marc and Becky also decided to follow Brian to T & B Automotive Repair. You can expect the same great service, friendly atmosphere, and wonderful staff that you experienced at T & B Auto LLC.

We hope to see you soon.

Jodi Laib
