Why Changing Engine Oil Is Important

Posted in:

There are several parts inside your engine that need to be lubricated such as the crankshaft, cam shaft and lifters, cylinders and bearings along with several other parts. Without lubricant these parts will get hot and fail very quickly and require expensive repairs

We recommend changing your oil and filter every 3,000 miles or every 3 months whichever comes first. The reason changing your engine oil is important is because oil breaks down over time and looses it lubricating ability.

It is also a good idea to check your oil level every month or so to make sure it is at the normal operating range. Another good thing to do during an oil change is to check and top off the rest of the fluids levels, lubricate the chassis and check the air filter.

Used engine oil needs to be properly disposed of. There are several places to dispose of used engine oil, most auto parts stores will dispose of it free of charge. Proper disposal of used engine oil will protect the environment for all of us.
